Types of Education at TSI 2025

Fire Innovation Technology (FIT) Talk – FIT Talks will take place on the main stage, in the plenary room for all TSI participants (300-350). FIT Talks represent leading educational content at TSI and are offered as either 15 or 30-min segments. They should be developed by the speakers to present a real problem facing the fire and emergency services, present a big idea, and unveil an innovative and practical solution. Private sector speakers delivering FIT Talks should be mindful to keep content educational, and ensure message is not a product sales pitch.

Lightning Talks – At least two breakout sessions during TSI will be structured to include multiple “lightning talks” that highlight a lesson learned or best practice case study from the field where innovative technology was/is being applied and has resulted in operational improvements. Private sector speakers delivering Lightning Talks should be mindful to keep content educational, and ensure message is not a product sales pitch.

Panelist – Multiple breakout sessions will be structured as expert panels involving multiple thought leaders sharing their expertise and unique perspective on a theme related to innovative technology for the fire and emergency services. Serving as a Panelist provides an opportunity to inject thought leadership in a prominent way among TSI participants.

Facilitator – Multiple sessions, both breakouts and plenary sessions, will be structured as stakeholder discussions, workshops, and expert panels that will require a strong facilitator to foster productive dialogue on a multitude of themes related to innovative technology for fire and emergency services. Serving as a Facilitator provides an opportunity to guide meaningful engagement among TSI participants and be recognized as a thought leader.
