Chief Henley took over the reins as Fire Chief for Flower Mound in October of 2021 and has over 23 years of experience in the Fire Service with Garland, Frisco and Corsicana Fire Departments.
In 2021, Chief Henley was voted Fire Chief of the Year by the Texas Fire Chiefs Association, was awarded Navarro County Citizen of the Year and United Way’s Volunteer of the Year and most recently was instrumental in getting the Flower Mound Fire Department recognized as a Texas Best Practice Fire Department. In early 2024, Chief Henley was awarded the Lonestar Achievement Award by the Texas Fire Chiefs Association for his continued commitment to excellence and contributing to the advancement of the Texas fire service.
Chief Henley holds a Master Degree in Fire and Emergency Management from Oklahoma State University and holds the Chief Fire Officer and Chief Training Officer credential from the Center for Public Safety Excellence. He is also a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program, and the holds the TFCA Chief Fire Executive and TEEX Fire Service Chief Executive Officer designations and as a Certified Public Manager through Texas State University. He currently serves not only as our Fire Chief but a Past President of the Texas Fire Chiefs Association.
