Derrick Kiel has served with the Oklahoma City Fire Department since 1999. He has taught numerous Fire Officer courses, demonstrating his dedication to officer development. Rising through the ranks to Battalion Chief, he later became the department’s first Battalion Chief of Administration, where he championed mental health and wellness initiatives for first responders, served as the Honor Guard coordinator, and handled the internal investigations. Now Deputy Chief of Support Services and Logistics, he oversees facilities, fleet, HR, logistics, and dispatch operations. Derrick is also an instructor for the Oklahoma Executive Fire Officer Program and a frequent speaker and contributor to fire service leadership development.
