Jeff Buchanan is a retired fire chief and senior exective with more than 24 years of experience and now an Associate Director of Strategy & Development for FirstNet, built with AT&T. Prior to joining FirstNet, and as the Director and Fire Chief for Las Vegas Fire & Rescue (LVF&R), Jeff had oversight of an organization with more than 800 employees and a total budget exceeding 200 million dollars. Previously, Jeff served in the role of Public Information Officer and Deputy Fire Chief for Clark County Fire Department (NV) where he responded to many high profile incidents including the Route 91 shooting. Jeff began his public service career with the North Las Vegas FIre Department in 2001 and promoted through the ranks. In 2012 he was named as Interim Fire Chief and was selected as permanent Fire Chief in January of 2013. Seven months later Jeff was named as Interim City Manager in addition to his position as Fire Chief, and he and his team guided the city through their worst financial crisist in history. Jeff has a Doctorate in Public Policy, a Master Degree in Business Administration, and a Master in Public Administration. Jeff is a Professor of Practice in the Master of Urban Leadership Program at UNLV and is a credentialed Executive FIre Officer(EFO), Chief Fire Officer (CFO), and a graduate of Fire Service Executive Development Institute (FSEDI).
