Jeffrey Lenard has dedicated over three decades to the fire service, starting his career in Corolla, North Carolina, in 1995. He joined the District of Columbia Fire and EMS Department (DCFEMS) in 2004 and is currently assigned to the Special Operations Division’s Fireboat Company as a Rescue Swimmer and Master Public Safety Diver. His extensive experience also includes volunteer service with fire departments in New Hanover County, NC; Kentland in Prince George’s County, MD; and the City of Manassas, VA.
In addition to his operational responsibilities, Jeffrey serves as the Maritime Communications Unit Leader for the District of Columbia. In this role, he focuses on maintaining and enhancing interoperable communications among local, state, and federal responders within the National Capital Region's (NCR) maritime domain.
Jeffrey collaborates closely with the DC Office of the Chief Technology Officer to develop situational awareness and operational dashboards for the DCFD using the ArcGIS platform. His expertise in GIS technology helps bridge the gap between technology and first responder operations, ensuring effective communication and data-influenced decision-making in complex emergencies.
